Light Industrial and A Touch of Luxe
As busy homeowners with 2 teenage girls, they have stated for their home preference to have a clean and contemporary style with earthy textures for contrast. This project features a bold choice of a teal accent wall and the grey brush textured: Momento painting wall for the TV feature area. The open living area also includes a wall of full-length mirror cabinet doors to enlarge the space visually.
Therefore, the furnishing considerations as advised by the interior designer is for the homeowners to look out for furniture with clean, contemporary lines, light in visual weight and to keep the colours neutral.
Grey is Great
Right across the grey brush textured TV feature wall is the Studio L-shape sofa set, upholstered in a complementary grey fabric tone and it comes with wooden storage arms on both sides. Besides being just an ordinary grey Studio sofa set, the homeowners opted for the Aquaclean fabric with the technology that acts as an advanced fabric protector, which allows an easy removal of stains by using water only.
With a smaller living room space, the Studio sofa is a perfect fit for its compact size. Nonetheless, the homeowners added extra seating options with the Wing armchair and a Chester leather stool in volcanic orange to add a touch of luxe while enlivening the space.
Versatile and Functional are Key
The Studio collection is designed with the compact apartment sizes in mind, therefore it has a minimal and light industrial look. In the Studio collection, it consists of matching coffee table set, bedside table and TV console that comes with the same light wooden Sonoma Oak finishing and rounded black metal frame legs.
Sitting in front of the sofa is the Studio 2-piece nested coffee table set with black frames. In a smaller living space, it is best to opt for multi-functional furniture that are versatile and easy to move around to be used in other rooms too.
Keeping a Clean Dining Area
Streamlined, yet sturdy, the Bolda dining set is a perfect solution for this family of 4. The hard-wearing quartz stone top ensures resistance against stains and scratches. This reduces the stresses from the family in keeping up with maintaining the pristine state of the quartz stone top, as it is made out of a man-made porous slab that counter the limits of natural stone counter top. With the non-porous surface, it also repels the growth of bacterial, mould and mildew, keeping the family heathy and safe.
On top of the functionalities of the Bolda dining set, the upholstery choice of Flex dining chairs is also in the same colour swatch as the rest of the furniture like the Studio sofa set and Wing armchair, including the Charles bench sitting right in front at the entryway.
The Zen Room
Tucked away in a quiet area away from the living room sees the “zen room”, furnished with 2 large bean bags with add-on pillow, placed on both sides of the Chai tea trolley. This zen room is a “perfect getaway” from the daily hustle and bustle of life as the room is filled with pure comfort and greenery.
Interestingly, the homeowners were really drawn to Cellini such that their home is largely filled with Cellini furniture – from the living area, dining room and even the “zen room”. With a good communication flow between the interior designers at Starry Homestead and the homeowners, the homeowners were able to get professional feedback and advise accordingly during the furnishing process.
